What would it look like if someone spilled ink of the deepest blue on water, and then placed green hills to it? While, it may not be technologically possible to do so, one can imagine that God did something of that sort when he created the Rara lake in Nepal’s Mugu district. The lake, located 2972m above sea level offers a serene environment for you to unwind and relax. If you happen to be there during summer, you will get to see red rhododendrons cover the hill. Here are four reasons why visiting Rara should be on your bucket list.
1. The Blue
There are many who call the oceans as the ‘deep blue’. Lot has been written about the deep blue. But you don’t need to go to the ocean to experience the deep blue. You can do that in Rara.
2. The Green
You go to the Rara lake through Shuklaphanta National Park experiencing the greenery it has on offer. The lush green fields are unique to the area, and make for an important ecosystem in the area.
3. The Brown
Although there is no accommodation available at Rara, you can find accommodation inside the national park. The huts are build with wood, and bricks. Spending a night or two in these brown huts can become an experience of a lifetime.
4. The Rainbow
On the way to Rara, you meet the local people. They are hospitable and friendly, and have interesting stories to share. So when are you going to Rara?
